RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults independently and help members continue their journeys safely.

The role offers a structured development pathway with IMI accreditation, a strong base pay of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £61,000, with overtime opportunities and bonuses.

Formación

• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

About The Role

What you’ll need...

• Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or: 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• and: A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

About the role

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether it’s a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault-finding, you’ll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most.

You’ll work independently to diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely. Every day brings different challenges, new environments and the opportunity to make an immediate impact when people need the RAC most.

You’ll combine technical expertise with great customer service, using the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly and safely.

You’ll be trusted to make decisions, supported to develop your skills and equipped with everything you need to succeed.
