Job summary

RAC Motoring Services is seeking a Roadside Technician for the Scarborough area. You’ll perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support, covering local zones with the RAC Patrol division.

Ideal candidates have Level 2 light vehicle maintenance and at least 2 years post-qualification experience, plus a full UK driving licence. You’ll start and finish at home, with a RAC van and tools provided.

As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years' experience, you'll receive:

• A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £61,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
• Start and finish on your driveway. Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.

Where you'll work

You will be part of the Scarborough cluster, covering areas like Scarborough, Whitby, Filey, Bridlington, and Pickering. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

• A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent), with at least 2 years' post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience

You'll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head-on and making a real impact on the roadside - combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service.

We'll set you up for success from day one, with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.
