Westbourne operates a fleet of fully equipped service vehicles across its working area. You will be provided with a roadside vehicle fitted with the latest diagnostic equipment to identify faults on various cars and light commercial vehicles. Service vans are equipped with towing gear capable of recovering most motor vehicles to repair workshops or destinations of the customer's choice.
The primary goal of a Westbourne Technician is to safely repair as many vehicles as possible at the roadside, aiming to outperform competitors in vehicle repairs. The role covers breakdowns at any location within the UK, with a focus on customer safety and vehicle repair.
Technicians are expected to diagnose and repair the majority of faults at roadside across all vehicle makes and models. Depending on workload, some basic repairs may be carried out in workshops. Additionally, technicians with suitable vehicles will recover non-repairable vehicles, usually within 60 miles, with longer distances handled by dedicated recovery drivers.
The basic salary is £31,000 per year, with bonus opportunities potentially adding up to £8,000 annually.

Since shifts may include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, you must be prepared to drive to various locations in all weather conditions, working efficiently and quickly.
Ideally, you will have at least three years of experience in a vehicle-based industry. We welcome applications even from those without formal paperwork but with strong fixing skills. A Full Category B Driving Licence held for at least three years is essential. Training for towing trailers will be provided if needed. Relevant experience in vehicle technician roles or Level 3 qualifications is preferred. All candidates will undergo CRB checks.
