Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Roadside Technician to join its Patrol division, delivering expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Start and finish at home with your own RAC van and diagnostic kit provided.

To be eligible, you’ll hold a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience OR 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, plus a full UK driving licence with few points and a willingness to work on a

Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician Join the team that keeps the UK moving. As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years' experience, you'll receive:

• A market-competitive base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £60,000, with top-performers earning significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.


• Start and finish on your driveway.


• Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.

What you'll need:

• Either: NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic


• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you'll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
