Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll start and end your day at home, covering local Bristol-area clusters, with demand-led shifts averaging around 40 hours per week.

With a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years of post-qualification experience, you’ll be a problem solver and people person, offering rapid, confident solutions and outstanding member

As a Roadside Technician with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equilavent) and at least 2 years‘ experience , you’ll receive:

Start and finish on your driveway. Demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime available.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Bristol cluster, covering areas like Bristol (City Centre & Suburbs), Portishead, Clevedon, Filton, Patchway, Yate, Keynsham. We organise work locally so you can start and finish at home, focusing your day on getting members back on the road in your local area.

As a Roadside Technician within our Patrol division, you’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. Whether it’s a flat battery, tyre change, or complex fault-finding, you’ll provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when our members need it most.

You’ll start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the roadside - combining your technical expertise with outstanding member service.

We’ll set you up for success from day one, with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit all provided.
