Job summary

WSP is seeking an enthusiastic Utilities Engineer to join the Roads team in London & South East. You’ll work with early career professionals, engineers and project managers to deliver utility connections, diversions and infrastructure strategies across UK schemes.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, highways design experience, and proficiency with Civils3D/AutoCAD; BIM knowledge and openness to digital tools such as Python and Dynamo. This position offers hybrid working in the UK.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Highways design experience in accordance with DMRB, TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual and Local Transport Notes.
• Proficiency in Civils3D/AutoCAD; Bentley/OpenRoads Designer beneficial.
• Familiarity with BIM environments such as ProjectWise, Autodesk Forma and other CDEs.
• Interest in digital automation, data-driven design, or computational tools (Python, Dynamo).
• Attained or working towards professional qualifications such as IEng.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs and specifications in accordance with Design Manual Roads & Bridges (DMRB).
• Support development of Graduate Engineers and Apprentices.
• Produce technical reports as required.
• Undertake site visits to inform designs.
• Collaborate with Project and Technical Delivery teams to measure carbon on projects.
