A local government authority in Scotland is seeking a Roads Operative for their Lockerbie service depot. The successful candidate will undertake various road maintenance activities including laying paving slabs and kerbs, asphalt laying, and ensuring safety during operations. We are looking to recruit one position at the Lockerbie service depot. As the
successful candidate you will undertake a range of road maintenance and
construction tasks including laying paving slabs and kerbs, concrete and
asphalt laying, drainage works, temporary traffic management including
erecting and removing signs, barriers, and cones and other related roads
maintenance activities.
You will be required to contribute to the Council's winter maintenance
activities such as gritting, snow clearance and responding to flooding.
Opportunities to gain goods vehicles driving qualifications will be available. A
valid driving license is highly desirable.
This post is a permanent contract for 36 hours per week.
The job involves operating a full range of road maintenance plant and
machinery including rollers, mini excavators, disc cutters, breaker units and
other small plant.
