Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse collision data to identify trends and risk factors
  • Implement speed management initiatives to improve road safety
  • Conduct safety reviews of highway design proposals
  • Undertake Road Safety Audits in accordance with GG119
  • Manage road safety schemes and provide expert advice to colleagues and external partners
  • Review applications for changes to highway operations and speed limits
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal teams and external organisations
  • Promote safe, healthy, and sustainable travel for all road users
Job Requirements
  • Experience in road safety engineering, including collision data analysis
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the Safe Systems approach to road safety
  • Qualified to undertake Road Safety Audits as per GG119 standards
  • Strong organisational skills to prioritise workloads effectively
  • Customer-focused approach to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Understanding of highway design standards and guidelines for safe solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
