Our client is a well-established road freight haulage company specialising in road freight movements to Ireland, UK and Europe. With a wealth of experience in this sector my client has built up an impressive network of offices and agents Worldwide, offering the freight forwarding solutions with long standing partners and offices. With modern purpose-built warehousing facilities to provide extra service to their customers.

We are now recruiting at their Bury location for a Road-freight forwarding operator. You will be responsible for handling road freight forwarding movements, providing excellent customer service and resolving inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities:
* Answer phone calls and emails from customers in a timely and professional manner.
* Maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
* Liaise with various carriers and hauliers and other offices.
* Taking bookings by telephone and email
* Quoting own service and any forwarding jobs
* Building /creating jobs (multi-freight)
* Customs preparation - CDS / Thyme-it / TSS entries
* Booking in final deliveries
* General office administration
* Processing POD's and Invoices.

Skills required:
* In order to apply for this role, you will have a worked in a freight forwarding role within an exports role and have the skills and experience to follow the transport and customs regulations required.
* Mature and dynamic personality, which enables the focus of interaction with colleagues to be proactive.
* A good understanding of how important customer satisfaction and trust is to the business.
* Good customer service skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft office
* Ability to work independently and part of a team
* Good organisational skills
* Good communications skills, including the ability to communicate effectivity at all levels
* IT literate
