We are actively seeking passionate shipping, freight, and European road transport professionals for a new role as a Road Freight Forwarder in Nottinghamshire!

My client is a SME freight forwarding business with significant growth ambitions in the freight and shipping industry. You will join a fast-paced environment, assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail, and FMCG customers. The company focuses on air, sea, and road freight solutions that are both cost-effective and solution-driven.

Job Description

As a Road Freight Forwarder, you will report to the Road & European Freight Manager daily. Your responsibilities across the Nottinghamshire office include:

• Managing pricing, quoting, booking, and file monitoring for import and export road freight to and from the EU and Turkey.
• Preparing road freight pricing and customer quotations, including freight prices, port charges, special document costs, insurance, and handling fees.
• Organizing road transport through third-party transit providers throughout Europe and Turkey.
• Providing transportation solutions with adequate load capacity, complying with WTD and VOSA regulations.
• Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's) and arranging VAT/Duties billing.
• Ensuring booking and customs clearance processes are completed efficiently.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the road freight forwarding industry. The ideal Road Freight Forwarder will possess:

• At least 2 years of experience in road freight forwarding and transport planning.
• A relevant graduate qualification or strong interest in joining the logistics and freight industry.
• Experience in pricing, quotations, and planning customer deliveries across UK and EU road freight.
• Desirable but not essential: experience with customs compliance.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous.
• Ability to commute to Nottinghamshire.
