Job summary

WSP are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Engineer to join the Roads team based in the London & South East region with offices in Cambridge, London, Basingstoke, Guildford or Southampton. You will contribute to high-quality design and deliver efficient services across multiple projects.

Prepare designs to DMRB, develop using Civil3D/AutoCAD, support senior engineers and graduates, and participate in site visits as required to inform designs.

Qualifications

• A passion for design and developing innovative solutions.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Highways design experience per DMRB, TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual and Local Transport Notes.
• Proficiency in design and drafting tools like Civil3D/AutoCAD; Bentley OpenRoadsDesigner/MicroStation is advantageous.
• Familiarity with BIM environments and collaborative digital delivery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs and specifications in accordance with DMRB.
• Develop designs using Civil3D and AutoCAD.
• Deliver work packages with scope to move up to managing smaller schemes.
• Provide support to Senior Engineers within the design team in planning, programming and cost estimation.
• Support development of Graduate Engineers and Apprentices.
• Produce technical reports as required.
• Undertake site visits to inform designs.
• Be active on several varied multi-disciplinary project/client accounts at any given time.

WSP are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Engineer to join the Roads team based in our London & South East region (located in either of our: Cambridge, London (Westferry Circus), Basingstoke, Guildford or Southampton offices).

Your role will be at the heart of our high performing team, using your technical skills and expertise to help us continue driving forward in terms of both technical quality and service efficiency.

You can expect your role to involve:

• Prepare designs and specifications in accordance with Design Manual Roads Bridges (DMRB)

• Develop designs using Civil3D and AutoCAD

• Deliver work packages with scope to move up to managing smaller schemes

• Provide support to Senior Engineers within the design team in planning, programming and cost estimation.

• Support development of Graduate Engineers and Apprentices.

• Produce technical reports as required

• Undertake site visits to inform designs

• Being active on several varied multi-disciplinary project/client accounts at any given time.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate...

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline

• Highways design experience in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manual and Local Transport Notes

• A passion for design and developing innovative solutions.

• Proficiency in design and drafting tools like Civils3D/AutoCAD. additional skills in Bentely design software such asOpenRoadsDesigner/MicroStation would be advantageous.

• Familiarity with BIM environments such as ProjectWise, Autodesk Forma (formerly ACC), other Common Data Environments, CAD QA/QC processes, and collaborative digital delivery would also be beneficial.

• Attained or working towards professional qualifications such as IEng, with demonstrable progress.
