Contract type – Full Time, Permanent, Secondment

Information about the role

Working as part of a dedicated RN team, you’ll support the planning & integration of radiation & nuclear detection equipment into the protective security layer of policing for major public events. Additionally, you will support the response to any radioactive or nuclear source that is out of regulatory control, either through loss or criminal intent, further supporting the Protect, Prepare & Pursue elements of the National Contest Strategy.

You’ll have the ability to enhance your profile through ongoing learning & technological advances, working closely with key partners across the CBRN landscape.
Successful applicants will be expected to travel to other locations within the UK in line with the capability requirements. An allowance is provided for all business travel, sustenance expense & overnight accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Operationally deploy with radiological & nuclear detection equipment within the Protect & Pursue elements of the National Contest Strategy across the UK.
  • Working with host Forces to deploy radiological & nuclear detection architecture into major public events.
  • Support the development of bespoke deployment plans for operational activity.
  • Volunteer for the NCBRNC Duty Officer On-Call cadre. This weekly 24/7 on-call role is rotated between Constable’s and Sergeants, to support Duty Managers (Inspectors) and the SLT.
