Overview

Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; supervising assigned team members; and utilizing evidence-based practice. Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams through effective communication, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in team problem-solving. Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)

1. Administers medications within the scope of practice and hospital policies.
2. Assesses, evaluates, interprets, and documents patients' physical and mental status.
3. Establishes rapport with patients and significant others to understand care requirements and resolves patient problems through multidisciplinary teams.
4. Promotes patient independence by setting care goals, teaching self-care skills, and answering questions.
5. Ensures quality care by adhering to standards, measuring outcomes, and making necessary adjustments.
6. Maintains a safe and clean environment by complying with procedures and protecting patients and staff.
7. Protects patient confidentiality and maintains continuity through proper documentation and communication.
8. Maintains professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.
9. Completes annual competency and regulatory education.
10. Contributes to team efforts, measured by patient satisfaction and care quality metrics.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of medical equipment.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to administer medications per policy.
• Ability to follow safety goals and interpret diagnostic results.
• Effective communication using SBAR.
• Multi-tasking ability.
• Courteous, compassionate attitude and support for the organization.
• Clinical skills including infection control, nursing skills, and physiological knowledge.
• ED/ICU: ACLS required; Med/Surg: BLS required.

Education

• Bachelor's Nursing preferred; College Diploma Nursing required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse; Certified CPR.
