Position Summary

Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a qualified nurse to administer patient care in an inpatient or observation setting, focusing on acute care patients receiving active treatment for injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, or post-intervention assessments.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Assess patient needs and develop or revise individualized care plans based on patient responses.
  2. Evaluate patient progress towards expected outcomes.
  3. Respect diversity by building respectful relationships with team members and patients.
  4. Act as a patient and family advocate.
  5. Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating necessary knowledge and skills.
  6. Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, educator, or clinician as needed.
  7. Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams for effective care planning.
  8. Model professional behavior and support hospital and nursing goals.
  9. Apply principles of growth and development to assess patient data and meet age-specific needs.
  10. Coordinate and delegate care tasks appropriately within the team.
  11. Document care accurately, including assessments, education, medication administration, and safety measures.
  12. Demonstrate competency with nursing skills and equipment.
  13. Prioritize patient care according to Evidence-Based Practice Standards.
  14. Identify and resolve problems effectively.
  15. Delegate tasks considering patient needs and team member capabilities.
  16. Communicate patient condition and unit concerns effectively to team members.
  17. Provide compassionate, therapeutic care environments.
  18. Be aware of legal issues and patient rights.
  19. Support new team members and students through collaboration with education and leadership teams.
  20. Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with policies and legal standards.
  21. Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • Meet all competency requirements for Orlando Health and the specific department.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current Alabama RN license or valid multistate eNLC RN license.
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC certifications required for certain areas.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required unless approved by AVP or higher.
