Position Summary
Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking an experienced nurse to administer patient care in an intensive, high-acuity setting. This role requires managing patients with complex illnesses or injuries, demanding a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Provide complex assessment, therapies, and high-level nursing vigilance for critically ill patients.
- Use assessment data to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
- Prioritize information and take evidence-based, patient-focused actions.
- Monitor and interpret specialized equipment and electronic displays.
- Respond to life-threatening situations per standards and protocols.
- Assess patient needs, develop and revise care plans, and evaluate progress.
- Build respectful relationships with team members and patients, respecting diversity.
- Advocate for patients and families.
- Provide age-appropriate care, serving as a preceptor, charge nurse, educator, or clinician as needed.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate and delegate care tasks appropriately.
- Document all patient care accurately, meeting regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and equipment use.
- Prioritize ongoing patient care based on evidence-based standards.
- Practice effective problem-solving and team communication.
- Provide compassionate, caring practices and uphold legal and patient rights.
Specialized Responsibilities for ECMO Specialist
- Provide daily staffing for ECMO services after specialized training.
- Operate ECMO equipment, monitor circuits, and manage patient stability.
- Collaborate with physicians and perfusionists to interpret and adjust treatments.
- Perform technical procedures safely and efficiently, including crisis management.
- Manage ECLS during transport and ensure continuous coverage.
- Participate in mandatory training and simulations.

- Maintain a safe, organized work environment and attend ongoing education.
- Support organizational goals and perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Training
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Meet all competency requirements for Orlando Health.
Licensure/Certification
- Current RN license in Alabama or valid eNLC multistate license.
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for specific areas; NRP for NICU.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year nursing experience unless approved otherwise.
