Position Summary

Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to administer patient care in an inpatient or observation setting, providing active treatment for injuries, illnesses, or post-intervention assessments.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  1. Assess patient needs and develop or revise individualized care plans based on patient responses, evaluating progress toward expected outcomes.
  2. Respect diversity by building respectful relationships with team members and patients.
  3. Act as a patient and family advocate.
  4. Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating necessary knowledge and skills for the patient population served.
  5. Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, educator, or nurse clinician as needed.
  6. Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to plan and manage patient care.
  7. Model professional behavior and support hospital and nursing goals.
  8. Apply knowledge of growth and development to assess and interpret patient data relative to age-specific needs.
  9. Coordinate care and delegate tasks appropriately to team members.
  10. Document patient care accurately and in compliance with standards, including assessments, education, medication administration, and treatments.
  11. Demonstrate competency in nursing skills and equipment use specific to the unit.
  12. Prioritize patient care based on Evidence-Based Practice Standards.
  13. Identify and resolve problems effectively.
  14. Delegate tasks considering patient needs and team member capabilities.
  15. Communicate patient condition and unit concerns effectively to the healthcare team.
  16. Provide compassionate, therapeutic care environments for patients and families.
  17. Be aware of legal issues and patients’ rights.
  18. Support the onboarding and ongoing education of new staff and students.
  19. Maintain regular, punctual attendance per hospital policies and legal standards.
  20. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures.
  21. Contribute to professional development, quality improvement, and organizational outcomes through participation in committees and peer review.
  22. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, practicing efficient resource use.
  23. Participate in staff development, meetings, and nursing practice improvement initiatives.
  24. Identify professional development needs and pursue continuing education.
  25. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Training: Graduate of an approved nursing program, meeting all competency requirements for Baptist Health, Orlando Health, and the specific department.

Licensure/Certification: Current Alabama RN license or valid multistate RN license, current BLS certification; ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain units, with NRP required for NICU.
