Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Team Leader include but are not limited to:
  1. Demonstrates clinical expertise through excellent assessment of physical, mental, and psychological status of patients using age-appropriate knowledge to ensure care standards are met for the patient population.
  2. Plans, evaluates, and supervises care for all patients and others as assigned, utilizing Core Values in service, teamwork, communication, respect, and time/priority management.
  3. Models effective interpersonal and leadership skills to promote collaborative working relationships with all members of the healthcare team to provide excellent patient service.
  4. Assists the manager with daily operations of the unit to achieve departmental goals.
  5. Coordinates and participates in educational programs, in-services, and performance improvement activities to enhance technical skills.
  6. Demonstrates sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
  7. Leads patient management, including real-time service recovery.
  8. Assists in developing and implementing policies based on evidence-based practices and standards.
  9. Collaborates with physicians, specialists, inpatient/outpatient nursing units, and other healthcare team members to ensure effective communication and patient-centered care.
  10. Handles stress effectively related to organizational changes, personnel, and patient care issues.
  11. Works with interdisciplinary departments to facilitate patient flow.
  12. Mentors and reports on clinical knowledge of staff, participating in performance assessments.
  13. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  14. Performs inventory checks and documentation audits.
  15. Attends at least 90% of team and staff meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
  • BSN or other advanced degree, or current enrollment in a BSN program with completion within 1 year of hire.
  • Current Charge RN experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience in Critical Care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA; ACLS and CPI within 6 months of hire.
  • Department-specific certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Current MA RN License.
  • Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 is required.
