Job summary

Northwood seeks a Term RN Clinical Leader to join their long-term care team in Halifax. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of nursing experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to quality patient care within a person-centered model. Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, ideally in long-term care.
  • Experience with dementia patients preferred.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certificates required.

Northwood is currently accepting applications for Term RN Clinical Leader to join our long term care team in Halifax!

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with the province of Nova Scotia
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing including previous experience in long-term care
  • Nursing experience with persons experiencing dementia preferred
  • Experience in physical assessment
  • Experience in staff supervision required
  • Strong clinical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated abilities in leadership, problem solving, decision making, group process, and directing and supervising others
  • Demonstrated use of proper body mechanics
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of/ experience with a Person-centered model of care
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certificates required
  • Formal leadership development training an asset
  • GPA training AND Non Violent Crisis Prevention training an asset
  • PIECES training required
  • CNA Gerontology an asset
  • Experience in acute care and/or mental health is preferred
  • Must have regular and consistent attendance in accordance with the Northwood corporate standard

Salary

  • As per NSNU Collective Agreement.

Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly (8 hour shifts)
