Registered Nurse, Knoxville Neurology Specialists

$5,000 Sign-on Bonus for Experienced RNs

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

MON - THURS: 7:45AM - 4:30PM FRI: 7:45AM - 12:45PM

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care within an outpatient clinic setting and coordinates care planning with other disciplines as appropriate.

Responsibilities
  1. Adheres to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.
  2. Precepts new employees/students as needed. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with office manager or clinical instructor/supervisor.
  3. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives and infection control policies.
  4. Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment. Accurately records history and performs basic triage procedures per policy.
  5. After retrieving condition of patients, creates nursing history and discusses recommendations for appropriate interventions to appropriate practitioner.
  6. Demonstrates clinical expertise and knowledge to resolve complex patient/management/physician problems independently.
  7. Uses AIDET communication fundamentals to ensure patient comfort and privacy.
  8. Assists providers with examinations, procedures and other direct patient care activities.
  9. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment during patient visits.
  10. Ensures accuracy of patient medical records, maintains reports, records, and statistics.
  11. Manages supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
  12. Inspects clinical area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, taking corrective action when needed.
  13. Schedules outside patient appointments as per physician instructions and communicates details accurately to patients.
  14. Relays hospital/nursing home calls and test results to practitioners promptly.
  15. Completes medical orientation checklist and initiates patient education.
  16. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
  17. Implements care based on diagnosis and physician orders.
  18. Problem-solves and coordinates clinic patient care under physician supervision.
  19. Performs age-specific care skills, maintaining professional growth through seminars and workshops.
  20. Participates as part of a team in delivering comprehensive patient care.
  21. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; sufficient to meet licensing and certification standards as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience:

At least three (3) years of professional nursing experience.

Licensure Requirement:

Valid Tennessee RN license. CPR and OSHA training annually.
