The Raw Materials Technologist is responsible for leading and driving the execution of CCI de-risk, and supply projects within R&D. This role requires strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and decision-making capabilities to ensure raw material changes are successfully implemented. The individual will act as the key point of contact for de-risk, CCI and supply initiatives, ensuring project visibility, efficient tracking, and continuous improvement. The role demands a proactive, autonomous, and strategic approach to problem-solving, supplier management, and stakeholder alignment. The role has responsibility for technology platforms roadmap and supporting/directing the execution of these projects. This is a key area to driving change and giving McCormick a competitive edge with our customers and McCormick.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Raw Material agenda - supply de-risking, CCI and supply management. Activities include information gathering, developing supply strategies and then leading R&D evaluation (trials, sensory etc) through to supporting documentation. This role is the main point of contact for this agenda.
  2. Lead and drive the initiation of technology roadmap strategic projects. This includes finished products, raw materials and processes working with cross-functional departments. Finished Goods agenda - CCI, NPD (focus on new business and innovation/platforms). Elements included are recipe development, trials, sensory and supporting documentation.
  3. Stakeholder management - tracking, reporting and cross-functional coordination.
  4. Enhance project visibility and reporting by designing and maintaining tracking tools, updating stakeholders, and continuously refining communication channels.
  5. Develop innovative approaches to solving supply challenges. Be agile and take the lead during these challenges to implement an R&D driven solution.
  6. Develop and implement strategic frameworks for managing CCI and de-risk projects. Ensure effective tracking, reporting, and decision-making processes are in place. Continuously optimise workflows for efficiency.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  1. Food Science and Technology Degree, or relevant experience.
  2. Process or NPD background will be beneficial.
  3. Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  4. Assertive and able to deal effectively with people at all levels.
  5. Able to work well as part of a team.
  6. Ability to work to tight deadlines and to deal with constant changes.
