Everything You Need to Know

Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and eager to make a tangible impact on water quality?

If so, join our team as River Water Quality Monitoring Compliance and Reporting Manager. We’re looking for a dedicated individual to build a new team from the ground up, and then lead them in reporting, analysing, and quality assuring river water quality data from our newly installed monitors.

This role is crucial in identifying monitors that require maintenance and coordinating with the operational teams to ensure they are always in top condition. Once assured, you’ll be responsible for the annual regulatory reporting of this data.

In this role, you will finalise the terms of reference for the team and build a skilled group to manage and understand the detailed data gathered from monitors distributed throughout Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy. You’ll navigate the regulatory frameworks that both companies operate within and emphasise the importance of this key environmental measure. Your team will assure River Water Quality Monitor (RWQM) data throughout the year to ensure the information used for the annual RWQM return is accurate.

Key Accountabilities
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of compliance specialists and analysts.
  • Accountable for ensuring the assurance of River Water Quality Monitor data returns for Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and OFWAT.
  • Develop and coordinate strategic plans to address emerging regulatory focuses.
  • Create processes and procedures for future RWQM regulatory reporting, including supporting evidence.
  • Act as the primary contact for internal leaders and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies like the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
  • Experience of our Regulatory framework specifically in relation to specialist areas of flow and environmental permitting.
  • Knowledge of our wastewater treatment processes and waste network performance.
  • Knowledge of river water quality management and impact assessment from contributors.
  • Provided and presented key specialist knowledge to external stakeholders, regulatory bodies.
  • The ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Full UK Driving License.
