EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Are you ready to lead a team at the forefront of environmental monitoring? We’re looking for an experienced and motivated leader to manage a team of expert technicians responsible for the maintenance and calibration of our river monitoring equipment. This essential work ensures compliance with regulatory and operational standards, directly supporting multi-million-pound Outcome Delivery Incentives (ODIs) such as the Compliance Risk Index (CRI), pollution prevention, and system operability.
In this role, you’ll be accountable for ensuring all work meets the requirements of Section 82 of the Environment Act 2021, ISO 17025, and other relevant standards. You’ll take ownership of resource planning and budget management, overseeing a £500K annual budget and ensuring the team has the right people and equipment in place to meet our regulatory goals. With a 12-month planning horizon, your strategic oversight will be key to our continued success.
You’ll also act as a key liaison with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, representing the team and our wider environmental commitments. Internally, you’ll influence senior stakeholders to ensure capital investment is directed towards the highest-risk safety and water quality issues. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on environmental performance and public health through strong leadership and strategic thinking.
