Job description

HSV was established on 1 January 2021 as a commercially oriented independent provider of supply chain, procurement and corporate shared services to Victoria’s public health sector.

HSV’s purpose is to partner with Victoria’s public health services and suppliers to support better value for the public health sector and better outcomes for their patients.

Our focus is on the end-to-end supply chain needs of health services, including operating the State Supply Chain, to ensure Victoria’s public health services have access to goods that may be in higher demand or difficult to access. Under the Health Services Act 1988 (Vic), we administer compliance-related functions, and work with health services to assist them in meeting compliance and probity obligations.

About the Role

The Modern Slavery Risk Officer will play a key role in supporting the Modern Slavery Risk program for health services and involves preparing high-quality, accurate data through cleansing, analysis, and supplier risk assessments while contributing to system and process improvements. The Risk Officer will also support the organisation's collaborative approach with health services to meet regulatory requirements by coordinating stakeholder engagement activities, conducting research, and preparing presentations for health services and suppliers.

Key Accountabilities Include, but not limited to:

  • Conduct in-depth data analysis and investigations to identify trends, risks, and issues in supplier risk assessments.
  • Lead and drive supplier risk assessments to support the Modern Slavery Risk Program and develop health service-specific reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including health services, suppliers, and prospective suppliers.
  • Support the implementation of the Modern Slavery Risk Mitigation Program and contribute to forward-planned activities.
  • Apply a strong understanding of modern slavery risks to enhance supplier risk assessments and identify emerging trends.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence for key stakeholders.
  • Work with data and systems to ensure accurate and timely inputs for risk assessment reports.
  • Utilize strong data management and analytical skills to maintain the quality, accuracy, and relevance of data supporting the Modern Slavery Risk Program.

About you

  • Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills and proficiency (advanced functions and formulas, macros, pivot tables, graphs, data presentation).
  • Skills or knowledge in Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Power BI; Relational database design and data modelling techniques.
  • Exposure to data projects and methodologies would be advantageous.
  • Systems thinking experience: able to diagnose trends, obstacles, and opportunities in the internal and external environment; understands the linkages between items to inform options or solutions.
  • Problem solving: seeks all relevant information for problem-solving; liaises with stakeholders; analyses risk issues from different perspectives and draws sound inferences from information available; identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems; implements solutions, evaluates effectiveness, and adjusts actions as required.
