Risk Officer, Enterprise Risk Management

We are seeking a Risk Officer to join Morningstar's Enterprise Risk Management team. The team is agile and global, and we look for someone passionate about risk management, combining technical skills with strategic thinking to support a diverse financial services business. The role involves supporting the business in identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks that could impact the company's objectives. You will contribute to strategic initiatives to enhance the Group's ERM approach, support daily business operations, and promote good risk management practices.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of ERM in developing and implementing the Group's ERM strategy.
  • Manage the ERM process for subsidiaries, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for stakeholders.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex risk issues.
  • Collaborate with risk owners to facilitate risk discussions and provide challenges.
  • Act as liaison for functions and regions, advising on risk practices.
  • Identify and analyze risk trends and incidents for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver risk training and awareness programs.
  • Stay informed on ERM developments and governance standards across jurisdictions.
  • Mentor team members supporting risk management functions.
Requirements
  • 4-6 years of experience in risk, governance, or advisory roles, preferably in multinational or professional services firms.
  • Strong understanding of ERM frameworks, governance, and monitoring, with a proactive approach to innovation.
  • Experience with multinational ERM programs and corporate governance.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to simplify and synthesize complex issues.
  • Relevant qualifications such as Risk Management or Chartered Accountant are advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines across time zones.
