Job summary

Spinwell Global Limited is looking for a Risk Manager to lead risk and issue management across a major infrastructure portfolio, providing strategic guidance to senior governance bodies.

The role requires 5+ years in risk management, experience on large projects (£200-500m+), and a Practitioner-level qualification with APM membership. Hybrid working in Plymouth is offered with 3 days onsite.

Qualifications

• Extensive risk management experience (5+ years).
• Experience on major complex projects (approx £200-£500m+).
• Hold a recognised risk management qualification at Practitioner level or equivalent.
• Membership of APM (Association for Project Management).
• Infrastructure sector experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve risk and issue management across the Major Infrastructure Portfolio.
• Establish a consistent, evidence-based approach to risk/issue identification, assessment, ownership, treatment, monitoring, reporting and escalation.
• Provide strategic-level advice to SRO, Portfolio Head, programme and project leaders, governance bodies.
• Support owners to understand exposure, develop mitigation plans, identify opportunities and escalate when necessary.

Spinwell is recruiting for a Risk Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

• Be responsible for leading and continuously improving risk and issue management across the Major Infrastructure Portfolio.
• Establish a consistent, proportionate and evidence-based approach to the identification, assessment, ownership, treatment, monitoring, reporting and escalation of risks and issues across portfolio, programme and project activity
• Provide expert strategic-level advice to the SRO, Portfolio Head, programme and project leaders, governance bodies and risk and issue owners
• Support accountable owners to understand exposure, develop proportionate mitigation or response plans, identify opportunities, and escalate matters where exposure exceeds agreed tolerances or requires intervention at the next level of management

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE RISK MANAGER

• Extensive Risk Management Experience – 5+ years
• Experience working major complex projects, circa £200-500million+
• Hold a recognised Risk Management qualification at Practitioner level or equivalent.
• Membership of APM
• Infrastructure experience
