Job description

Risk Manager - Westlakes Recruit

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Risk Manager to be engaged on a permanent basis, based in any of our client's UK office locations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Head of Risk in leading the application of risk management processes and systems.
  2. Facilitate risk identification workshops and reviews both internally and client-facing.
  3. Support the development of risk responses and actions, including monitoring and reporting through to risk closeout.
  4. Perform quantitative and qualitative risk analysis, interpret the results, and apply analysis to assess appropriate allowances for risk.
  5. Provide advice, training, coaching, and challenge to internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Prepare framework and client-specific monthly reports.
  7. Contribute to progress meetings in support of the Project/Program Manager(s).
  8. Interface and collaborate regularly with the project controls team to maintain aligned cost, risk, and schedule positions with the project plan.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of the relationship between risk management and controls/management functions, including project management, change control, planning & scheduling, cost & commercial management, and reporting.
  • Experience with Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) techniques and tools such as @Risk, SAFRAN, Primavera Risk Analysis, Acumen Risk, etc.
  • Ability to motivate and liaise with team members and discipline leads to ensure risk information aligns with client and stakeholder expectations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and resilience skills to work under pressure and with diverse leadership styles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional or postgraduate qualifications (e.g., undergraduate/postgraduate degree, IRM Diploma or Certificate, APM Risk Certificate, PMI-RMP, MoR Practitioner).
  • 7+ years of experience with a solid understanding of risk management in project execution environments.
  • Membership of professional bodies such as IRM or APM is preferred.
