Job DescriptionRemarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the worldWood is currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Risk Manager to join our Systems Integration team, part of Woods Consulting business unit. This role will be instrumental in supporting the execution of risk management activities across a diverse portfolio of projects.
This is a hybrid role that can be based at any of the following UK offices: Aberdeen, Staines, Reading, Glasgow or Northampton with the expectation of travel as required.
Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The RoleThe Risk Manager will act as a key advisor and facilitator, ensuring robust risk practices are embedded throughout the project lifecycle. Interfacing with project delivery leaders to ensure risk and contingency management practices are adhered to, serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and providing independent facilitation of risk workshops on selected projects where required.
The Risk Manager will execute independent QRA risk analysis on selected projects where required and work closely in developing and maintaining project risk and contingency management procedures, processes, and tools at the BU (Business Unit) management system level to drive consistent delivery execution.
The Risk Manager will lead by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Company's values and behaviours, to ensure safe and reliable operations and client satisfaction.

ResponsibilitiesThe Key Objective of this role are:Performance- Promote a strong HSSE and risk-aware culture across all project activities
- Support project teams in delivering outcomes aligned with contractual, safety, quality, cost, and schedule expectations
- Lead and facilitate risk identification and assessment workshops with internal and external stakeholders
- Conduct schedule and cost risk analyses using industry-standard tools (e.g., Primavera Risk Analysis, @Risk, Acumen Risk)
- Develop and maintain project-specific Risk Management Plans and Risk Registers
- Monitor risk trends and escalate significant risks to senior leadership
- Provide risk input into project reviews, assurance activities, and lessons learned processes
People- Mentor and support the development of risk professionals within the business
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across project teams and business units
- Contribute to resource planning and competency development for the risk function
Governance, Policies, and Procedures- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of risk management procedures in alignment with Wood's governance framework
- Ensure compliance with internal and external risk management standards
- Collaborate with other functions (e.g., HSSE, Supply Chain, Project Controls) to integrate risk practices
- Drive innovation and consistency in risk management tools and methodologies

Expected:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Risk Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in Qualitative and Quantitative risk assessment
- Fluency in PertMaster, Acumen Risk, Safran, Palisade @risk & Primavera Risk, qualifications preferred
- Proven experience of Option Selection / Comparative Assessment techniques
- Proven track record of delivering quantitative analytical approaches and ability to build up remedial processes to assist in tackling issues and tasks
- Experience with complying and implementing Corporate and Project Risk Management Standards
- Experience across various project execution models (e.g., FEED, EPC, EPCm, PMC)
