Job description

Risk Manager Job Description

As a Risk Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head of Risk in implementing and maintaining the risk management framework, fostering a culture of risk awareness, and ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.

Salary: £50k-£55k plus 2 cars and family healthcare

Reports to: Head of Risk & Compliance

Knowledge, Experience, Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, risk management, business administration, or a related field
  • Experience in automotive or financial services
  • Knowledge of regulatory regimes and guidance issued by regulatory bodies is desirable
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CRM, FRM, or equivalent are desirable

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Head of Risk in developing and maintaining risk management strategies, policies, and procedures
  2. Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics to proactively identify emerging risks, escalating deviations from risk thresholds
  3. Maintain and update the risk register through comprehensive risk assessments
  4. Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities across various business aspects, including credit, market, operational, financial, and compliance risks
  5. Coordinate quarterly risk control activities within prescribed deadlines
  6. Test the effectiveness of first-level controls, identify areas for improvement, and propose corrective actions
  7. Maintain and coordinate testing of the business continuity plan (BCP) at least twice a year
  8. Collaborate on developing and implementing risk management strategies tailored for different business lines
  9. Support internal and external fraud investigations as required
