Job description

Are you ready to make your mark in the world of Formula 1?

At Formula 1, we are passionate about delivering the world’s greatest sports and entertainment spectacle leaving a positive legacy wherever we race. Innovation has always been at the heart of what we do ever since our first Grand Prix in 1950. Now, more than 75 years on, the sport remains a pioneer, developing technologies that have made a significant impact on society beyond the track.

Everything you see on screen or at an event comes via our passionate and dedicated people. Whether its engineering, broadcast, legal, logistics, security, event management, commercial, media rights, marketing, or communications there is always a talented team working to maximise the potential of the sport.

Role Overview:

The role will support strategic decision making, operational planning, and risk mitigation by supporting the delivery of timely intelligence assessments, and strategic insights within the Security team at Formula 1.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Intelligence Collection & Delivery:
  • Review, triage, and disseminate intelligence: Monitor F1 Corporate Security’s intelligence feeds, assessing the relevance, credibility, and impact of information, and produce clear, concise updates tailored to internal stakeholders, including senior executives and operational teams.
  • Deliver strategic assessments and regular intelligence products: Provide timely analysis, forecasts, and geopolitical assessments to support strategic decision making, operational planning, and risk mitigation across the business, including key risk assessments before all F1 events and weekly and monthly reports, briefings, and dashboards on emerging risks and geopolitical trends affecting F1’s global operations.
  • Monitor emerging threat vectors: Identify, track, and assess issues linked to key F1 engagement themes, including political instability, protests, criminal activity, terrorism, use of drones, and other risk vectors that may impact events, staff, and operations.
  • Deliver in depth geopolitical analysis: Provide high quality, contextualised insight into complex geopolitical environments where F1 operates. Support scenario planning and crisis management preparedness with well founded analytical outputs.
  • Support venue and race location risk assessments: Work alongside the Security Team and Race Promotion Team to deliver analytical input and risk evaluations for prospective and confirmed race locations, informing business decisions.
  • Monitor Persons and Groups of Interest: Assist the Security Services Manager and Corporate Security Manager in identifying, tracking, assessing, and escalating Persons of Interest (POIs) and Groups of Interest (GOIs) in accordance with internal processes and risk thresholds.
  • Knowledge Management: maintain the intelligence repository, country and venue baseline files, and POI/GOI records so assessments are auditable and reusable.
  • Support race weekend operations in the GSOC: Work as part of the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) during race weekends to provide intelligence support, manage incident reporting, and triage OSINT investigations for escalation to external intelligence partners
Intelligence Function Management & Development:
  • Vendor Management & Outsourced Analyst Collection Management: Support the ongoing vendor management of F1’s Intelligence Providers and portfolio analyst teams.
  • Develop intelligence capabilities: Support the Security Services Manager in evolving the F1 Intelligence function by monitoring new intelligence providers, industry developments, and emerging analytical tools. Contribute to designing improved analytical processes and workflows.
  • Collection planning and requirements management: translate stakeholder requirements into prioritised intelligence outputs and track coverage gaps across providers.
  • Tooling and alerting development: Build and maintain automated monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding workflows to speed up detection and reporting.
  • Compliance and data handling: Ensure OSINT activity, records, and screening are conducted within legal, privacy, and ethical guidelines, working with Legal and Data Protection.
Travel Risk Management:
  • Travel risk assessment and briefing: Produce destination and route risk assessments, advisories, and pre-departure briefings for travelling staff and senior executives, including journey-management input for higher-risk race locations.
  • Traveller tracking and duty of care: Support traveller tracking and alerting during race weekends and business travel, escalating incidents affecting F1 personnel and supporting relocation or evacuation decisions.
  • Travel risk framework and assurance: Support the Security Services Manager in maintaining F1’s travel risk processes, including policy, approval workflows, assistance provider performance, and post-trip lessons learned.
  • Training and awareness: Deliver briefings and awareness sessions to security colleagues and wider business teams on emerging threats and reporting routes.
