Job summary

Aon plc in the UK is offering a hybrid Risk & Governance Officer role at the centre of risk, governance and organisational insights across the UK and EMEA. You will partner with Risk & Compliance to deliver governance, reporting and risk management activities to support informed business decisions.

Based in London or Farnborough, the role covers governance forums, risk reporting, committee records and action tracking, with exposure to regulatory change and cross-functional projects in a matrix

Qualifications

• Experience in risk, governance, compliance, or internal audit within FCA-regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of regulatory governance and committee structures.
• Experience working in a large global organisation with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building with senior leaders across UK/EMEA.
• Strong communication and organisational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate reporting and papers for UK/EMEA governance committees and stakeholders.
• Maintain committee records, terms of reference, action tracking and audit trails.
• Support governance forums and risk management practices with risk leaders and business teams.
• Produce high-quality reporting on risk exposure, controls and emerging risks.
• Identify, assess and document risks, controls and dependencies across the business.
• Provide governance input on initiatives and regulatory change projects.

What the day will look like

Working closely with colleagues across the UK and EMEA, this role sits within the Risk & Compliance function and supports governance, committeeoversightand risk management activities across a wide range of business areas. The successful candidate will playan important rolein ensuring governance processes areeffective,reporting is delivered to a highstandardand key risks are appropriately managed and escalated.

You will:

• Coordinate reporting and papers for key UK and EMEA governance committeesand key stakeholders, ensuring information isaccurate,clearand delivered on time.
• Support governance forums bymaintainingcommittee records, terms of reference, actiontrackingand audit trails.
• Work closely with Risk & Compliance leaders and business teams to support effective governance and risk management practices.
• Produce high-quality reporting on risk exposure, control effectiveness, emergingrisksand key business developments.
• Support the identification,assessmentand documentation of risks,controlsand dependencies across the business.
• Provide governance and risk input on business initiatives,projectsand regulatory change activities.
• Build strong working relationships across broking, operations, finance,peopleand other functional teams.
• Contribute to the UK People Risk Committee, ConductCommitteeand wider Risk & Compliance projects across the UK and EMEA.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Experience within risk, governance, compliance, internalauditor a similar role, ideally gained within insurance, financial services, professionalservicesor another FCA-regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of regulatory governance, committee structures, riskframeworksand governance processes within a complex corporateorganisation.
• Experience working within a large globalorganisation, partnering across multiple functions and geographies within a matrix environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, businessteamsand functional partners across the UK and EMEA.
• Strong communicationandorganisationalskills, including experience preparing governance papers, committeereportingand management information, while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
