Our client are an exciting, new division start up with the security of a large parent company in the Financial Services sector. They are looking for a Risk Executive to support the growth of the business on a 12-month fixed term contract.

The Risk Executive role is vital in ensuring the effective implementation of risk management practices in the firm. You’ll need to forge and maintain close working relationships with first line colleagues, our counterparts in the firm, the Head of Operational Risk, and other members of the CRO team. Some experience in technology and cyber risks would be desirable.

Please note this position allows a very flexible working pattern, incorporating a certain level of travel to the South Wales office twice a month.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Training first line colleagues in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) disciplines and processes.
  • Supporting first line colleagues with RMF processes such as Risk & Control Register completion, logging risk events, and Key Risk Indicator (KRI) production.
  • Monitoring first line adherence to the RMF processes, particularly in the technology and cyber risk areas.
  • Ensuring the Risk Management System is up-to-date.
  • Liaising with Group Risk & Compliance colleagues.
  • Supporting the Head of Operational Risk in the development and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Experience with concepts like risk identification and assessment, risk reporting, internal control, and control testing/risk reviews
  • Ability to build and foster strong relationships
  • Working knowledge of technology/cyber risk management and control would be beneficial
  • Preferably, holding or working towards a recognized risk management or technology risk qualification (e.g., IRM, CISA, IIA, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
