Job summary

Randstad Financial & Professional is seeking a Risk & Control Analyst to join their team in Central London. You will transition the business from a compliance-led approach to a proactive internal control framework, working hands-on across design, testing, and remediation.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field, plus a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and about 5 years in internal controls or risk.

Responsibilities

• Framework Deployment & Operationalisation: roll out the new Control Framework across finance and key operational risk areas.
• Perform control assessments, walkthroughs, testing, and self-assessments to verify design and effectiveness.
• Identify control gaps, conduct root cause analyses, propose solutions, and track remediation actions to completion.
• Act as a trusted advisor to control owners, assisting with training, change management, and building risk awareness.
• Prepare reporting packs, dashboards, and analyses to give management real-time visibility into risk trends.
• Assist in resolving audit findings with practical action plans.

Our client is seeking a high-caliber Risk & Control Analyst to join their expert team in Central London, you will play a hands-on role in transitioning the business from a traditional compliance-led approach to a proactive, performance-enabling internal control framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Framework Deployment & Operationalisation, Support the rollout and embedding of the organisation's new Control Framework across finance and key operational risk areas.
• Perform control assessments, walkthroughs, testing, and self-assessments to verify control design, operational effectiveness, and process reliability.
• Identify control gaps, conduct root cause analyses, propose pragmatic solutions, and track remediation actions through to completion.
• Act as a trusted advisor to control owners across a matrix structure, assisting with training, change management, and building a proactive risk awareness culture.
• Prepare robust reporting packs, dashboards, and control weakness impact analyses using digital tools to give management real-time visibility into risk trends.
• Assurance & Audit Support, assist in resolving internal and external audit findings by developing practical, value-adding action plans aligned with business priorities.

Required Experience & Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related discipline. A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• 5years of hands‑on experience in internal controls, risk management, or assurance (internal/external), ideally combining practice and in‑house roles in complex or project‑driven environments.
• Prior experience in Big 4 business assurance or risk consulting is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial/operational control environments, governance codes (e.g., UK Provision 29 or SOX), and control reperformance (financial and non-financial).
• Tech‑savvy with experience using analytics and reporting tools (such as Power BI, SAP/S4HANA, or dedicated risk platforms).
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable narratives.
• Sector Knowledge: Exposure to construction, engineering, or infrastructure environments is advantageous but not essential.
