Job Description:

A leading UK law firm is looking for a Risk & Compliance Manager to join their Peterborough Team.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor with a background in regulatory compliance within the legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and deputies.
• Support the MLRO in maintaining and updating AML frameworks.
• Review LSAG action plan and the firm’s AML Risk Assessment regularly.
• Support the Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP) to ensure adherence to SRA regulations.
• Investigate non-compliance issues and assess their impact.
• Draft, review, and update compliance and risk management policies.
• Ensure compliance with SRA price transparency requirements.
• Oversee client onboarding for compliance with due diligence protocols.
• Provide guidance on data protection and GDPR compliance.
• Work with COFA and Finance to ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
• Communicate risk areas to the Finance Director and suggest mitigation actions.
• Coordinate regulatory submissions with departments.
• Review firm policies regularly to keep them current.
• Assist fee earners with client and matter risk assessments per LSAG guidelines.
• Mentor junior lawyers in compliance matters.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in regulatory compliance

• Ability to promote compliance firm-wide through engagement
