Qualifications

Responsibilities

Base pay range

We are recruiting for a Risk & Compliance Lawyer at a leading commercial law firm. In this role, you’ll be working closely with the senior personnel to support the delivery of top-tier risk and regulatory service across the firm. You will play a key role in advising the firm on risk-related matters and leading initiatives to maintain legal compliance.

We’re looking for an experienced candidate who has worked within a similar role in a law firm or regulatory environment. A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, ideally alongside a strong track record in managing complex risk and compliance issues.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-level legal advice on ethical issues, SRA Standards & Regulations, GDPR, and other compliance matters
• Managing PI claims and complaints, and leading investigations into client and third-party complaints
• Supporting the MLRO/MLCO with anti-money laundering efforts and assisting with reporting to the NCA
• Advising on and negotiating contractual terms, including Outside Counsel Guidelines and supplier agreements
• Developing, updating, and communicating policies and procedures to ensure firm-wide compliance with legal standards
• Leading risk and compliance training initiatives, including bespoke sessions for fee earners and management
• Overseeing the firm’s audits, insurance renewals, and regulatory registrations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions

We’re looking for someone with advanced knowledge of risk management, a solid grasp of regulatory requirements and strong communication skills. You should be a proactive leader who can manage complex situations calmly, while fostering collaboration across teams.
