Job description

We’re working on behalf of a well-established, not-for-profit financial services organisation with a strong purpose: to make saving for the future simple, fair, and accessible for all. As a people-first employer with a flexible, inclusive culture, they’ve built a reputation for exceptional service and ethical practice — and are now entering an exciting period of strategic growth.

We’re working on behalf of a well-established financial services organisation who are looking to appoint a Risk Business Partner – Investments to join their Group Risk Advisory function. This is a key second-line role supporting the Investments Team — helping them make informed, risk-aware decisions that balance ambition with compliance and long-term sustainability.

The Risk Business Partner will act as an independent advisor to the Investments Team, embedding strong risk management practices into day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring both technical risk expertise and the interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Advisory

  • Serve as an independent risk advisor to the Investments Team, providing challenge and insight
  • Support delivery of the organisation’s risk framework (e.g., asset allocation, modelling)
  • Join regular meetings with portfolio managers and analysts to advise on risk implications of strategy

Risk Identification & Assessment

  • Work closely with investment professionals to identify and assess investment risks
  • Evaluate external factors such as economic or geopolitical developments

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Build and maintain tools and dashboards to monitor key risk indicators
  • Produce regular risk reports for leadership and investment teams
  • Ensure compliance with agreed risk limits and business objectives

Mitigation & Controls

  • Recommend mitigation strategies and help implement control measures
  • Adjust the risk profile as needed to remain within tolerance thresholds

Governance & Compliance

  • Act as a liaison between investment and risk functions
  • Support audit preparation and regulatory compliance efforts

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in a first- or second-line risk role (investment risk experience desirable)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work in a matrixed environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and risk systems (GRC tools)
  • A collaborative approach and a passion for making a positive difference

What’s on Offer

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation offering genuine flexibility and an exceptional benefits package, including:

  • Up to 14% employer pension contribution
  • Real living wage employer
  • Healthcare, critical illness, and income protection cover
  • Generous parental and adoption leave
  • Subsidised on-site restaurant and gym
  • Learning & development support including study sponsorship
  • Season ticket loans, Ride-to-Work scheme, and volunteering days
  • A vibrant social culture with regular employee events
