OUR Impact:

Risk Data is a high-profile team within Risk that manages data risk for the Risk Division. Its core mandate is to partner with users and the technology organization to enhance the strategic data architecture supporting Risk workflows and to ensure compliance with firmwide data governance strategies and relevant regulations like BCBS 239.

YOUR Impact:

Risk Data's unique position allows it to work on cross-group projects within Risk and across the firm. It ensures business data needs are met with technology solutions and oversees the implementation of data governance policies, including risk-specific policies compliant with BCBS 239 and other regulations. The team provides transparency into data processes, quality controls, and transformation, enabling insights, reducing duplication, and meeting regulatory requirements.

  • Driving adoption of the firmwide data governance framework
  • Managing initiatives to improve data quality
  • Negotiating data ownership with data producers and consumers
  • Creating data lineage graphs from source to reporting
  • Developing communication and reference materials for data governance

  • Providing data quality analytics for remediation
  • Ensuring policies meet regulatory standards and integrate into daily workflows
  • Partnering with divisions to evolve data governance strategies
  • Collaborating with users and engineering teams on tooling for business use cases

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with stakeholders on data-related strategies and solutions, with a collaborative approach and ability to develop and translate requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Define strategic direction for Risk data initiatives
  • Drive adoption of data governance framework
  • Manage data governance improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate with project teams, define objectives, develop approaches, create schedules, and deliverables
  • Document data lineage and ensure controls from data entry to reporting
  • Analyze business processes and system issues for improvements
  • Partner with technology to meet user needs
  • Prepare regulatory self-assessments
  • Engage with divisions for policy and standard enhancements
  • Manage stakeholders and sponsors at all levels

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5+ years relevant experience
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage evolving projects and priorities
  • Team-oriented with mutual support mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in data governance or management
  • Financial services industry experience, especially regulatory reporting
  • Project management skills
  • Understanding of data usage in business areas
