Job summary

UK Power Networks is seeking a Risk & Assurance Advisor located in London to join the Finance directorate. You will lead internal audit and assurance across the organisation, assess risks and controls, and report findings to shareholders.

The role collaborates with the Risk & Assurance team and supports intelligent data-driven assurance including the responsible use of AI. You will operate from Newington House in London as a permanent employee, with responsibilities across governance, compliance

Qualifications

• Experience in internal audit, assurance, risk or compliance.
• Clear written and verbal reporting skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver assurance work with independence and attention to detail.
• Ability to build effective working relationships and influence stakeholders.
• Sound judgement and ethical working.
• Collaborative cross-team approach to assurance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a varied portfolio of internal audit and assurance assignments with high-quality outcomes.
• Assess risks and controls; provide practical recommendations.
• Produce accurate quarterly reporting for shareholders on risk and assurance activity.
• Build relationships with colleagues at all levels and with external stakeholders.
• Work with the wider Risk & Assurance team to identify opportunities for integrated assurance.
• Use data analysis to strengthen assurance activities, including safe use of AI.
• Communicate findings clearly, respectfully and confidently.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across Risk & Assurance and the organisation.
