Job summary

Clearwater People Solutions Ltd is recruiting a Risk and Compliance Manager for a leading professional services firm in the Crawley area. You will work with the Head of Risk to promote a robust compliance culture and provide expert guidance on industry regulations.

You will advise on professional conduct, manage claims and investigations, conduct compliance audits, monitor regulatory developments, and coordinate their implementation across the firm.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of risk, governance and compliance in a regulated professional services environment.
• Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Experience in handling investigations, claims and regulatory changes.

Responsibilities

• Advising internal teams on professional conduct, conflicts of interest, ethics and industry standards.
• Managing actual and potential claims, investigations, and liaising with insurers.
• Conducting compliance audits across business groups and coordinating external quality accreditations.
• Tracking regulatory developments and coordinating firm-wide implementation.
• Supervising and supporting a junior Risk and Compliance Assistant.

The Risk and Compliance Manager will be responsible for working alongside the Head of Risk to promote a robust compliance culture across the firm, providing expert advice to key stakeholders on industry regulations, and managing professional conduct matters and claims,

Key Responsibilities for the Risk and Compliance Manager:

• Advising internal teams on professional conduct, conflicts of interest, ethics, and industry standards.
• Managing actual and potential claims, conducting internal investigations, and collaborating with professional indemnity insurers.
• Conducting compliance audits across different business groups and coordinating external quality accreditations.
• Tracking upcoming legislative and regulatory developments and coordinating their implementation across the firm.
• Directly supervising and helping to develop a junior Risk and Compliance Assistant.

Skills Required for the Risk and Compliance Manager:

• Strong communication skills, including clear and effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex subjects in accessible terms to stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven mid-to-senior-level experience handling risk and governance within a regulated professional services environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the confidence to build trusted advisory relationships with senior leadership
