Risk & Compliance Assistant Key Responsibilities:
- Provide admin support to COLP, COFA, MLRO, arrange meetings, manage follow-ups and quarterly / monthly checks, and aid in external audits and file reviews
- Conduct and compile full KYC checks for new clients, including engagement letters, New Business Memos, and background screening
- Advise internal teams on AML and complex onboarding issues involving sanctions, PEPs, and adverse media
- Ensure proper matter opening and maintenance in coordination with the finance team
- Maintain the Risk Register, conducts risk assessments, design AML controls, and support updates to compliance procedures in line with regulatory changes
- Manage Companies House records and risk documentation and provide compliance guidance to the US for UK specific regulations
Risk & Compliance Assistant Skills & Requirements:
- 2+ years of related Risk and Compliance experience in a Law Firm

My client is award-winning, highly regarded and a Certified B Corporation, and this role reports into the Chief Risk Officer with responsibility for the Compliance and Financial Crime function.
In this key role for my client, you will be responsible for leading a small team and will work closely with the senior leadership team and hold the external regulatory defined offices of SMF 16 and SMF 17.
The role will require you to partner with a variety of internal stakeholders, and externally you will engage with the FCA, HMRC and LSB amongst others.
Specific responsibilities will include the following:

To take accountability for regulatory and technical compliance, money laundering/financial crime and information security as well as engaging effectively at Senior and Executive Level (both internally and externally) on behalf of the Head of Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime.
To lead the provision of a full compliance, financial crime and information security service to HCLIBS and its clients that ensures and provides assurance of full compliance with FCA and other relevant regulations and to instil a compliant culture amongst HCLIBS employees.
Ensure senior level client compliance and financial crime relationships are appropriately managed on behalf of the Head of Regulatory Compliance and Financial Crime.
Key tasks & responsibilities
- Produce and present (if required) compliance, financial crime and information security focused papers and management information to HCL IBS internal committees and HCL IBS’s clients as required.
- Oversee the provision of a proactive compliance, financial crime and information security service to clients ensuring that HCL IBS’s compliance activity meets the requirements of each client contract.
- Maintain and develop client relationships across compliance, financial crime and information security management for each client (including senior level roles).
- Support and oversee routine compliance technical and advisory activity, including the following:
- the production of Compliance Bulletins and regulatory change requests.
- the provision of advice on the FCA’s conduct of business sourcebook; in particular on product disclosure, both internally and to clients.

Miryco Consultants are working with a private equity backed high-growth Financial Services Consultancy. The firm are looking for a professional with strong regulatory knowledge to support the delivery of regulatory compliance and operations services to their clients.
This position is a great fit for a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional looking to join a fast-paced consultancy through their next stage of growth.
Responsibilities:
- Support clients with the execution and ongoing maintenance of compliance monitoring programmes.
- Assist with the drafting and review of key policies such as Financial Crime, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Personal Account Dealing.
- Conduct quarterly horizon scanning exercises to identify and summarise upcoming regulatory changes for external and internal stakeholders.
- Perform ad hoc regulatory compliance research and analysis tasks for clients.
- Work with client stakeholders to maintain awareness of regulatory expectations and promote compliance best practices.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Economics, or Business.
- 1-3 years of experience in compliance, operations, or regulatory support within Financial Services or Consulting.
- Excellent working knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks.
