Job summary

Consilium Insurance Brokers Limited, part of the Aventum Group, invites applications for a Risk and Compliance Level 3 Apprenticeship. You will support the Head of Risk and Compliance, gain practical experience in a Lloyds broker, and progress toward the Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Hybrid working is available; you will maintain records, assist with governance, risk management, and compliance activities, and develop industry knowledge throughout the program.

Qualifications

• GCSEs A-C including English, Maths and ICT (ICT preferred).
• A Levels or Level 3 qualification completed or due to complete (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain the teams registers and logs (risk, breaches, complaints, gifts & hospitality).
• Collect information and evidence for compliance checks and reviews of internal controls.
• Carry out basic checks on new clients and partners (sanctions screening).
• Track policy review dates and follow up to ensure timely approvals.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets and charts for management and committees.

Education

Description

Join Consilium’s Risk and Compliance team and gain practical experience of how a Lloyd’s broker manages risk and regulatory requirements. Supporting the Head of Risk and Compliance, you will provide administrative support, develop industry knowledge and work towards a Level 3 Compliance and Risk Officer Apprenticeship.

• Maintain the team’s registers and logs, including the risk register, breaches and complaints logs, and gifts and hospitality register.
• Help collect information and evidence from colleagues to support compliance checks and reviews of internal controls.
• Carry out basic checks on new clients and business partners, including sanctions screening, and raise any unusual findings with a senior colleague.
• Track policy review dates and follow up with colleagues to help ensure policies are reviewed and approved on time.
• Help prepare reports, spreadsheets and charts for management and committee meetings.
• Support team and committee meetings by arranging meetings, preparing and distributing papers, taking notes and tracking follow-up actions.
• Keep supplier information and contract records accurate and up to date.
• Help organise training for colleagues and maintain records of training completion.
• Support colleagues with basic queries about using the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) system.
• Monitor news and updates relating to the insurance market and regulation, sharing relevant information with the team.
• Complete the apprenticeship programme, attend training sessions and keep learning records up to date.
• Any other additional duties as required.

Entry requirements

At least 5 A-C equivalent Grade GCSE’s including English, Maths and preferably ICT.

A Levels, BTEC or another Level 3 qualification, completed or due to complete (desirable, not essential).
