Job summary

TalkTalk is seeking a Risk Analyst to strengthen its risk and compliance framework in a fast-paced telecoms environment. You’ll identify, monitor and report on operational and technology risks, shaping governance and control improvements across IT, Finance, Legal and business teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with GRC tools and advanced Excel, delivering insights to senior stakeholders and risk committees.

Qualifications

• Relevant proven experience in a risk and compliance team, ideally in a regulated environment where pace, governance and practical judgement are key.
• Confident, hands-on experience using Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) systems to manage risk registers, assessments and reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyse data, build models, create pivot tables and dashboards, and present insight clearly.
• A relevant professional risk qualification such as the IRM Certificate in Risk Management or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience of implementing and embedding risk and compliance frameworks in a practical business setting.

• Support bringing TalkTalk's enterprise risk and compliance framework to life - the implementation, embedding and continuous improvement across the organisation.
• Prepare accurate and insightful risk analysis and reporting for senior stakeholders and risk committees using advanced Excel techniques - to turn data into meaningful stories and trends.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders including IT, Finance, Legal, Technology and business teams to ensure risk management is joined-up and part of how we work.
• Carry out risk assessments, control testing and compliance reviews to identify gaps and support remediation activities.

As our Risk and Compliance function continues to evolve, you'll step into a trusted role with real ownership and visibility. You'll help keep key activity moving with confidence, strengthen continuity across the function and ensure the business remains well supported, well governed and ready for what's next.

What you'll get involved in:

• Identify, assess and monitor operational, technology, compliance and business risks, maintaining an accurate and up‑to‑date risk register within the GRC system.

• Keep mitigation actions moving, tracking progress through to completion, escalating where needed and helping the business stay ahead of emerging issues.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of risk policies, procedures and training materials that promote a strong risk‑aware culture across TalkTalk.
• Work closely with the outgoing Head of Risk and Compliance during handover, ensuring knowledge transfers smoothly and day‑to‑day coverage remains seamless.

What you'll bring - the experience we're looking for

• Relevant proven experience working within a risk and compliance team, ideally in a regulated environment where pace, governance and practical judgement are key.

Bonus points if you also have

• Previous experience in the telecommunications sector.
• Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements relevant to telecoms (for example Ofcom, GDPR and data protection legislation).
• Familiarity with technology and cyber risk management practices.
