Job Title: Risk Analyst

Basic Salary: up to £37,000.00 dependent on experience.

The Role

Reporting to the Risk & Compliance Manager, you’ll ensure that key risks are identified and controls are working effectively across the business. You’ll support our teams in reaching our strategic objectives in line with our risk appetite, keeping customers’ best interests at the heart of what we do. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assurance to the Risk & Compliance Manager that key risks are identified, and mitigation controls are in place and working well across the wider business.
  • Apply knowledge and experience of risk management practices to support the enhancement of enterprise-wide risk management.
  • Help track performance against risk appetite statements including targets and tolerances set by the Board/SLT.
  • Conduct horizon scanning to identify and analyse issues and emerging risks and trends, interpreting complex legal and regulatory documents.
  • Support the business in the operation, analysis, and resolution of risk events/incidents.
  • Support the wider business with Risk & Control Self-Assessment, clearly articulating findings within the department and in strategic operational meetings.
Additional Tasks
  • Undertake assigned tasks related to the Audit & Risk activity to support departmental objectives, including but not limited to:
  • Completion of 3rd party/supplier due diligence.
  • Ensuring adherence to policy and procedure across the business.
  • Leading or assisting with the roll out of risk-based training.
  • Attending trade body webinars/seminars as a representative of Evolution.
  • Monitoring business-wide compliance by regularly assessing the effectiveness of existing controls and staying up to date with changes in laws, regulations and best practices affecting the industry risk landscape.
Qualifications

Minimum:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in regulated financial services, ideally in a risk or compliance capacity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of risk and control management frameworks, tools, and techniques.

Additional:

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the UK regulatory framework (FCA and ICO).
  • High attention to detail and high-quality standards.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage changes to priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills. Experience in addressing risk, control, and non-compliance issues including root cause analysis, identifying gaps and corrective and preventive action.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills. Ability to clearly express ideas and communicate succinctly across a range of colleagues, including senior managers.
  • Ability to work as a team member and on own initiative.
Desirable
  • Industry-recognised certification in risk management.
  • Risk management software experience.
