Job summary

Taylor & Francis Books Division is seeking an experienced Rights Executive to join our Global Rights Team in London. This maternity contract role (9-12 months) is part-time (up to 32 hours) with office days in Blackfriars and international travel to book fairs.

You’ll maximise revenue by licensing content, build partnerships, and drive digital and audio licensing opportunities while managing sales across selected territories.

Qualifications

• Experience working on audio and digital licensing is essential.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets; proactive with lead generation.
• Ability to negotiate and close a sale with understanding of commercial terms.
• Customer-focused mindset ensuring excellent customer experience.
• Excellent communication skills via email or Teams.
• Agile, inquisitive approach to problem solving; able to share ideas and implement solutions.
• Strong attention to detail and discipline in maintaining records.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, results-driven, and a team player.
• Experience in academic, trade, or business publishing would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and increase rights revenue in a specific list of territories by implementing a sales strategy, forecasting growth, setting & meeting sales targets.
• Building strong partnerships with international publishers, agents and various departments across the business.
• Develop product knowledge enabling proactive marketing of titles, with a focus on digital and audio licensing opportunities.
• Analyse and report on sales and territory trends whilst maintaining awareness of competitor activity in various regions.
• Represent the company externally at bookfairs and undertake territory sales trips.
• Follow best practice and update the rights management database accordingly.
