The team

ITV manages a catalogue of over 250,000 hours of television programmes, feature films, and formats produced by ITV Studios or acquired by Global Partnerships for distribution. Effective management of rights data that informs asset availability underpins the company’s commercial strategies for content exploitation and reuse worldwide across multiple channels.

As part of the Legal team, the Rights Management department works closely with Production, Music, and Finance to provide visibility and access to content for all business areas and ITV’s strategic partners. The department engages with many areas that require rights availability and cost information for licensing, including internal trading. Licensing content leads to payment and reporting obligations that also depend on accurate rights data.

The role

The Rights Executive - Digital collaborates with the Senior Rights Executive - Digital and Rights Manager - Digital to maximize ITV’s content exploitation by recording and maintaining rights data, advising on rights availability and costs, and supporting sales and distribution through documentation, governance, and administration of rights exploitation.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

1. Interpret, input, and maintain rights information for ITV content in ITV’s rights systems according to policies and standards.
2. Assist ITV’s sales and distribution teams with creating and maintaining programme data and licenses as needed.
3. Assess rights availability and provide accurate clearance and cost information within deadlines.
4. Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuous rights data flow.
5. Work with Talent and Royalty Payments teams by inputting rights data for payment authority.
6. Offer solutions to rights clearance and cost issues; undertake risk assessments with the Rights Manager and Head of Rights Management.
7. Deliver services in line with Service Level Agreements managed by the Rights department.
8. Support development of new technologies for future rights management systems.
9. Negotiate rights clearances and renewals for secondary exploitation with Rights Managers and the Head of Rights Management.
10. Assist in producing reports to meet ITV’s obligations.
11. Stay informed on rights and talent union issues through internal communications.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria):

• Experience in television rights, digital, and social media exploitation.
• Commercial awareness within digital and social media spaces.

Other things we’re looking for (key criteria):

• Experience reading and interpreting complex legal data/documents (desirable).
• Experience with PARIS, Genersys, or similar rights management systems (desirable).
