About the Role

The Rights Assistant acts as a support function in the Rights Team, providing administrative, sales enabling, and operational support to the team in all their activities. This role has a global remit and contributes to the overall success of Rights. The current Rights team consists of 7 members handling rights licensing worldwide for Education’s content.

The duties include:

  • Rights deal fulfilment and processing, collaborating with internal teams and external customers
  • Using department technology systems to process Rights activities and supporting the team in their use of these systems
  • Providing day-to-day admin support within the team, working with Rights Managers and the Rights Director
  • Developing understanding of Rights, Publishing, and licensing potential of OUP content
  • Representing the Rights team across Education International and the wider business

About You

This role is suited for someone with strong organisational skills, whether from office-based work or elsewhere, who can prioritize tasks and hold others accountable. An interest in Rights or Publishing is beneficial, along with:

  • Attention to detail, especially with numbers and complex documents
  • Methodical, accurate, efficient, and diligent
  • Quick learner of new systems and troubleshooting technology issues
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Ability to manage a varied workload independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
  • Fast learner and good at retaining knowledge
  • Team player with a positive attitude, adaptable to change

If you are currently studying and interested in this role, part-time applicants are considered, with the potential to increase to full-time later. A minimum of 3 days per week is required initially, with a start date by October 1st. Part-time attendance involves hybrid working as per policy.
