If so, TXM Recruit is working in partnership with a high-profile railway client who is looking for a Right Time Railway Manager to join their team in Essex on a 6-month contract, paying £210.68 per day PAYE or £279.79 per day Umbrella rate.

The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for improving the Right Time performance for all the client’s services. This includes heading up a Right Time railway forum and undertaking structured performance audits and out-of-hours visits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with all functions within the client to deliver high performance for RT within the company.
  • Collaborate directly with Network Rail and Delivery Unit levels to investigate and resolve performance issues.
  • Chair regular cross-functional Right Time Railway Forums to develop performance improvement plans and business cases for the RTR Fund.
  • Develop all RT Business Cases for submission to the client’s Performance Executive for approval.
  • Report progress on RT performance improvement plans to the Performance Executive.
  • Lead risk identification workshops with both the client and NR colleagues.
  • Conduct performance audits at stations, depots, control, signal boxes, etc., to identify areas for improvement and potential business cases.
  • Chair twice-weekly conference calls with local managers to investigate recent incidents and resolve disputes.
  • Attend weekly sessions at the Network Rail Delivery Unit to understand root causes of performance incidents and follow up on actions.
  • Assist the HQ Performance team with internal attribution issues and disputes.
  • Carry out regular site visits and cab rides to understand operational conditions.
  • Undertake on-call duties as required.
Requirements:
  • Good general education standard.
  • At least 5 years of operational rail experience (desirable).
  • Extensive knowledge or experience with Power BI reporting.
  • Ability to challenge and advise constructively.
  • Sound knowledge of operating procedures.
  • IT literacy.
  • Personal Track Safety Certificate (desirable).
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Incident and accident investigation training.
Main Details:
  • Job Title: Right Time Railway Manager
  • Contract: 6 months, full-time, hybrid working.
  • On-call: 1 week every 6 weeks.
  • Pay Rate: £210.68 per day PAYE or £279.79 per day Umbrella (inside IR35).
  • Base Office: Harlow, Essex.
