Bilfinger UK is seeking a Rigging Supervisor based at Hinkley Point on a permanent basis.

As a Rigging Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Deciding on the appropriate pulleys, booms, braces, and cables for each job based on load requirements.
• Working as part of a team to move heavy loads, such as pipes, using machinery like telecranes, cherry pickers, and forklifts.
• Planning and executing lifts with a thorough, logical approach, excellent communication, and safety as a priority.
• Assisting in the installation and dismantling of machinery and structural steelwork on various sites, from sports stadiums to oil refineries.
• Knowing where to attach hooks, chains, and cables for safe lifting, and building equipment around objects as needed.
• Using hand signals, radios, and walkie-talkies to direct crane operators and guide loads into position.

Additional duties include:

• Selecting gear according to load weight and size, facilities, and schedule.
• Fabricating and repairing rigging equipment with hand and power tools.
• Assembling and installing supporting structures and rigging components.
• Attaching pulleys and blocks to structures with bolts and clamps.
• Testing rigging for safety and reliability.
• Dismantling, maintaining, and storing rigging equipment.
• Manipulating rigging lines and heavy equipment to move or support materials.
• Aligning, leveling, and anchoring machinery.
• Controlling the movement of heavy equipment in confined spaces.
• Cleaning and dressing machine surfaces and parts.
