Bilfinger UK is seeking a Rigging Supervisor based at Hinkley Point on a permanent basis.

Role Overview

As a Rigging Supervisor, you will be responsible for selecting appropriate gear such as pulleys, booms, braces, and cables for each job. You will work as part of a team moving heavy loads, including pipes, using machinery like telecranes, cherry pickers, and forklifts. Rigging is a highly responsible role requiring safety consciousness, teamwork, and excellent communication skills.

Your tasks will include planning and executing lifts, working on construction sites in all weather conditions, and assisting in the installation or dismantling of machinery and structural steelwork. You will also direct crane operators using hand signals, radios, or walkie-talkies to ensure safe and precise load movements.

Responsibilities
  • Select appropriate gear based on load weight, size, and work schedule.
  • Fabricate and repair rigging equipment using hand and power tools.
  • Assemble and install supporting structures and rigging components.
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to structures with bolts and clamps.
  • Secure loads with rigging, ensuring safety and stability.
  • Communicate effectively with team members during hoisting operations.
  • Test rigging for safety and reliability.
  • Maintain and store rigging equipment properly.
  • Manipulate rigging lines and support materials and heavy equipment.
  • Align, level, and anchor machinery.
  • Control movement of heavy equipment in confined spaces.
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
Qualifications
  • NVQ in Moving Loads, Capital Plant Steel Structures, or Erecting Steel Structures.
  • CCNSG certification.
