Job summary

Conrad Consulting Ltd in Leeds is seeking an ambitious Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join a leading global Architecture and Masterplanning practice. The role focuses on Education and Commercial projects, with mentoring towards becoming a fully qualified Architect.

You will work with experienced Architects, contribute to design development, and build skills across concept through to detailed design while progressing toward Part 3 qualification.

Qualifications

• RIBA Part 2 qualification or UK-equivalent.
• 1–2 years of post-Part 2 experience in a UK practice.
• Strong conceptual design skills with portfolio evidence.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp; Revit a plus.
• Interest in technical design, detailing and specs.
• Organised, detail-oriented, collaborative.
• Ambition to become a fully qualified Architect.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of Education and Commercial projects within a collaborative architectural team.
• Contribute to concept development, design reviews and the preparation of presentation material.
• Produce drawings, models and visual information to communicate design proposals.
• Assist with detailed design, construction drawings and specification information.
• Work with colleagues and the wider project team to develop coordinated design solutions.
• Manage allocated tasks effectively, maintaining accuracy and meeting agreed deadlines.
• Build the practical experience and professional knowledge needed to progress towards Part 3 qualification.

Conrad Consulting have partnered with a leading global Architecture and Masterplanning practice to recruit an ambitious Part 2 Architectural Assistant for their Leeds studio.

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, design-focused individual to develop their experience within a collaborative practice, contributing to meaningful projects while receiving coaching and mentoring towards becoming a fully qualified Architect.

Ideally, you will bring around one to two years of post-Part 2 experience, a strong portfolio and an enthusiasm for developing both your design and technical capabilities.

The opportunity

Your initial focus will be on Education and Commercial projects, including learning environments that make a lasting difference to local communities.

Working alongside experienced Architects and the wider delivery team, you will contribute across the design stages, developing your understanding of how projects evolve from early concepts into detailed, deliverable proposals.

This role will suit someone who enjoys the creative process and is equally keen to understand the technical detail behind successful buildings. Key responsibilities

About you

• Hold a recognised RIBA Part 2 qualification or UK-recognised equivalent.
• Must have one to two years of post-Part 2 experience within a UK architectural practice or consultancy.
• Demonstrate strong conceptual design skills, creativity and presentation ability through your portfolio.
• Be proficient in AutoCAD and SketchUp; Revit experience would be advantageous.
• Have an interest in technical design, construction detailing and specification writing.
• Be organised, attentive to detail and confident contributing ideas within a team.
• Be comfortable taking ownership of allocated work, while recognising when to seek guidance.
• Have a clear ambition to develop your skills and become a fully qualified Architect.

Salary, benefits and development

• Starting salary of £28,500 £32,500, dependent on experience.
