An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated rheumatology clinical nurse specialist to join the team based at Whipps Cross Hospital.

The post involves working closely with experienced rheumatology nurses, managing a patient caseload, delivering personalized care, conducting nurse-led clinics, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to support patients, carers, and healthcare professionals across secondary and primary care.

The ideal candidate should have rheumatology experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and a solid clinical background. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will provide advice and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals, acting as a key worker and working independently and within the multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include developing clinical practices, policies, and guidelines, and contributing to service development to ensure seamless patient pathways, all within a clinical governance framework.

Experience

  • Post-registration rheumatology experience
  • Experience of nurse-led clinics, including osteoporosis clinics
  • Practice development and evidence-based practice
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and in research, including clinical trials

  • Presentation, teaching, and group education skills
  • Proficiency in IT tools such as Word, Excel, and databases

Knowledge

  • Sound clinical knowledge in rheumatology
